SS Meet Up & Eaves and Downpipes Installed

On Thursday i met up with SS to take a look through the house and go through the next stages of the build. The house is looking amazing! So impressed, and so happy with how it looks.
Every question that i had to ask, SS was able to answer on the spot and was on the ball with everything.

A couple of Queries i had were:-

1. water in U pipe that goes through the floor to the Island bench - This will get taken out prior to the kitchen install.

2. Why is there gaps above the windows? This allows for the expansion of the wood, without it the windows would be placed under a lot of pressure and could crack.

3. About a 20mm Brick overhang off the slab, apparently all good, and not a major issue.

4. Broken Noggins - Getting fixed that day

Apart form the above i couldnt notice anything else that didn't look right. Not that I really know what to look for.

Completely 100% trust our SS and the job he is doing, therefore dont feel the need to stress over the little things that could go wrong. He always tells me exactly what he is planning to do, and is keeping me involved every step of the way.

The Eaves, Downpipes and Brick Clean (90%) have all been completed.

Next things in line are the electrical guys come in to place wire.

Then Bring on the Internal fit out! Cant wait!

Brickwork Completed - Well almost

Brickwork is pretty much done! If you count a few extra bricks to finish a pylong and then the brick clean and site clean!

It looks A-MAZ-ING! So happy with it! We can now see our beautiful home right before our very eyes. The bricks are stunning! LOVE the off White Mortar and Ironed finish!

Yay for MOCHA! and all in standard range too! Even better to love something that doesn't mean we had to pay for an upgrade like everything else we wanted.

If i calculate the amount of working days they took to build. Starting from the 18th December there were 10 official working days and the Bricklayers worked (from what we could see) for 8 Days to brick the house. I guess tomorrow will be clean up and then they still need to clean the brickwork too! If we think it looks HOT now imagine once the clean is done how good she will look.

Now its looking like a house - Bricks, Bricks, so many Bricks

Brickwork Started on the 18th December.

The rear wall on Bedroom 4. Not much was done, but it was something! And something we could actually view to see what the mocha brick we had chosen looks like.

Just to re-cap - when you go to PGH Bricks the wall that you choose from isn't very big, and it looks different depending on the time of day you go. We did a drive by some homes that were built with mocha to give us an idea. But for a standard Brick in the standard range we are loving what we see.

A beautiful earthy colour that should stay quite neutral for the years to come.

18th December - Day 1 | Bed 4

9th January - Day 3 | WIR & Ensuite started

9th January - Day 3 | Home Theatre, Bed 2-4 completed
The different times of the day makes the brick look very red in some photos. Its a beautiful blend of brown with some red coloured bricks thrown in the mix.

10th January - Day 4  | Garage started

10th January - Day 4 | Front view of Garage

10th January - Day 4 | Living and Dining Room started
Didn't notice any work over the weekend!

13th January - Day 5 (No Photos)
Everything was completed except the front portico and 3 main bedroom windows.

Im having withdrawals not seeing our house today! It took all my willpower to not drive up there after dinner tonight. Hopefully that just means we will get more of a surprise if we head up tomorrow to check it out.

These guys are powering through! They should be finished by the end of the week and the gutters and fascia are set to arrive on Monday to be installed and ready for the roof.
